ANNUAL REUNION 2010

The NMC has decided to return to the Nottingham Britannia for our annual reunion again this year.

As you know we had originally planned to go to a large country hotel in a small village outside Coventry. Although the hotel itself was excellent there was no public transport at the weekend and it was some way out of town. The feed back we received when this was known was rather negative so we re-assessed and after investigating a couple of other hotels decided to return to Nottingham which is able to cater for the majority of our demands and at a reasonable price.

The Rutland Square Hotel, very adjacent to the Britannia, has been able to offer us an acceptable deal which we will use as the overflow. The room standard is good and I am sure that those of you allocated to the Rutland Square will be pleased with it. Those allocated to this hotel will be victualled B & B with all other meals and activities in the Britannia.

Secretary’s; it is important that you make your members aware that whilst I will do all I can to satisfy your requirements; I can only do this if I know what these are. If there is not enough room on the application then add a supplementary sheet.

The Reunion Dinner (Saturday) will be inclusive of wine (1/2 bottle per person) and Port for the toasts

There will be the usual ‘Tot Time’ on the Friday evening included in the package price. We will have mis-musters for late arrivals and those on the one day and entry only packages.

Despite not being able to obtain sponsorship again this year to offset the costs to you – recession still biting I have managed to keep the prices as they were last year.

The costs for the weekend are as follows:

Will you please submit completed applications without commitment with a deposit of £25 per person by the end of May. This is to identify the rooms requirement for hotel planning. If we don’t fill then they will re-let their rooms

Reunion costs are to be paid in full by 30th July. Please make cheques payable to the “Submariners Association” not to me or any other individual on the NMC.

I know the closing date is earlier than previous years but I will be out of the country the first two weeks of September. I will then allocate rooms and advise you by end August. If I can’t satisfy your particular needs then you still have the option to cancel without loss.

So, what else do I need to know?

• Disability Requirements. For example do you require: – To be close to the lifts.
– A Walk in Shower. These are very limited and mainly in the Rutland Square. Note that even these have a small step up into the shower.
– Twin Beds. • Who do you want to chum with if in a Twin Room.
• Are you bringing a friend or relative with a different surname. I will then try to get you located together.
• I will generally allocate couples a double room unless otherwise advised.
• Will you arrive late on the Friday? If so let us know, so that within reason a meal can be made available for you.

Finally, tell me anything you think I ought to know. I aim to please but I am not clairvoyant. Add it on a separate note if needed.
