Editorial
Just to prove that we have a wide readership you only need to look at the messages from the Website to see how many messages there are from Australia, Canada, the USA, the UK and even Cornwall (only joking!).
And to show that people do read ‘In Depth’ – sometimes a while after publication we have been put in our place by Mike Draper reference the diving depth of the old ‘A’ Class Boats which, he tells me was 500 feet and not 800 feet, as stated in the relevant article. His E Mail to us is included in this newsletter. Our only excuse is that the item was a direct lift from the Derby Branch Newsletter – thus ‘Not my fault, Chief.
Again there is a variety of items to choose from in the Newsletter and we hope you find something to your interest.
Thanks to those who have contributed and, for those who haven’t, please remember that this is your Newsletter and it is your stories that our Members want to read.

Fellow Submariners
A big thanks to Barrie and Joan for once again putting together another good newsletter for you.
I was very interested to look at the list of new members and those who have died. To start with I was very pleased as the list of new members was nearly two pages (40) whilst those who had died was just one page (28). It wasn’t till I went to our data base that I realised that overall the number had dropped. That can only mean that there are still a number of members who are lapsing their membership. I urge you all to keep in touch with your members and make your meetings and social gatherings such that your members want to belong and join in. Our recruiting is obviously working, although we can always do better, but our retention is the problem area.
