I wonder if I can ask a general question? Is there a site for World War One Submariners (History of/crews/associated info). I and various memebers of my family are doing family research, and whilst I don't yet have specific details, wonder if there is anywhere I can enquire...thanks

Hello Can anyone give me any information on my dad Percival Edward Adams known as Percy. He was a chief marine engineer in the navy and the last Ship he worked on was the HMS Eagle when it went into dry dock in Liverpool in the 50s. He passed away in 1986 but I would like to be able to tell my child and grandaughter all about their grandad, he came from a large family but there was lots of problems within the family. So have never had any contact with them and was brought up in childrens homes in Wallasey Cheshire. I can be contacted trish.harrop@btinternet.com. Thanks for reading this

I served on Dreadnought 1976 through 1980, and would like to join the Association. Unfortunately there are no Branches near me (on the Canadian prairies) How do I go about joining? I am a member of the Dreadnought Association. I attended the Dreadnought reunion last year, and am coming over again this year for the ships visit in Rosyth. Regards, Ron Williamson

Hi to all the following was sent to me if anyone knows this chaps where abouts please contact Mick Inshaw at m.inshaw@lineone.net i will pass onto lady concerned. thankyou for replying.I was hoping that someone may have known my father, John black Mackenzie P/MX.885121 or even heard of him . have been trying to find anything out about him.As have lost contact with him, since the seventies, my parents divorced by then. To put your mind at ease, no fault of my father, my mother died last year, so i feel that looking for imformation would not cause concern for others. the last address we lived at was Hilsea naval housing. Will understand if you think you no longer want to be in contact with me assure you no bad feelings with my father on both sides. therefore would you be able to ask anyone at your ass meetings? sending you the name and service number again . Please reply to the email address above.

I am a former submariner aboard the USS Cavalla SSN684 (fast attack sub). I am also involved in with the USS Cavalla SS244. SS244 served with distinction in WWII in the pacific and sunk a Japanese carrier and also provided escort to a British submarine, the HMS Terrapin P323, after it was damaged in a depth charge attack in 1945. Cavalla escorted the Terrapin to Fremantle for repairs. You can read a more detailed account at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Cavalla_(SS-244)
The USS Cavalla has a reunion every two year in Galveston, Texas where the two Cavalla crews meet to honor old shipmates and renew friendships.. The USS Cavalla SS244 is berthed at Seawolf park in Galveston, Texas which is a memorial park open to the public. More info at http://www.cavalla.org/
As the years go by each reunion has fewer and few members of the SS244 crew attending because of health issues or our shipmates passing on. Our next reunion is April 26-28 this year and I understand that only 4-5 of our old shipmates from the SS244 crew will attend. I’d like your recommendation on how to reach out to the crew members of the HMS Terrapin and try to connect them with the USS Cavalla SS244 crew and possibly create some form of communication between the crews by April 26 reunion in Texas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Warm Regards,
Mark Schrepferman

It was a very enjoyable experience to meet these fine gentlemen...I believe there eight all total... They were a credit to their organization as well as their country... Looking for information on my Uncle Dennis William Rawlings, born in Reading, Berks in 1925, and who served on submarines during part of WW2, I don't know which vessels he served on but I know he was sunk twice, once in the Indian Ocean at which time he was wounded. I would be grateful for any information on Dennis or any clues to websites or organisations where I can find out more
